Middleware for Digital TV: It's the intermediate software layer that allows the development of interactive applications for Digital TV, regardless of the hardware platform used by set-top box manufacturers.

Ginga: It’s the specification for the intermediary software layer standard (middleware) developed for the Brazilian Digital TV System by Puc-RJ and UFPB.

Interactivity Component: This is the term created by TOTVS to classify each and every application sent by the open Digital TV signal that allows the user to interact with the application using the receiver’s remote control.

Interactivity Components for set-top boxes These are interactive applications accessed through the Digital TV receiver. Your company will need to negotiate with one or more broadcasters a timetable so the application can be made available through the TV signal. Such applications may work with local interactivity or with return path.
Interactivity Components for mobile devices (1-Seg) These are interactive applications accessed through the Digital TV mobile receiver (for example: mobile phones, notebooks etc). Your company will need to negotiate with one or more broadcasters a timetable so the application can be made available in the 1-Seg signal. Such applications may work with local interactivity or with return path.
Interactive Ads are interactive components focused on product promotion and demos. TOTVS will partner with advertising agencies to deploy creative and innovative solutions for campaigns that may or not use the return path.
