Visiontec receivers with AstroTV were running Ginga-J and Ginga-NCL applications broadcasted experimentally by the TV broadcasters. Applications from Globo (Caminho das Índias), Record (A Fazenda) and SBT (Portal de Interatividade) developed in partnership with these broadcasters were presented to the audience, who could try out new features, like the return channel and the interactivity created for mobile
receivers (1-Seg).

Also on display were prototypes of chipsets and receivers from Broadcom, Certi and Intel, running games and Ginga-NCL applications.

New products and services were introduced, attracting interest from companies from different industries, especially hardware manufacturers, TV broadcasters and software companies interested in the development of Digital TV applications. These were:

  • AstroTV: implementation of the Brazilian middleware Ginga, 100% compatible with the Brazilian specification in a commercial and optimized format. At the exhibition, it was the only middleware solution based on Ginga with support for Ginga-Java applications.
  • AstroPlay!!: broadcasting environment of Digital TV streams, including video, audio and data, for development and tests of interactive applications, adhering 100% to the Brazilian Digital TV norm.
  • AstroDevNet!: network of partnerships planned to offer pioneer companies the opportunity to quickly become qualified in the development of interactive applications for Digital TV.
  • AstroBox!: environment that allows AstroTV emulation on PC, allowing for development and tests of interactive applications for Digital TV on PC environment. It is part of the AstroDevNet! development kit.

This was TQTVD's second consecutive year of participation in Broadcast & Cable with its own stand and as a guest in the Brazilian Digital TV Forum stand.

The popularity of the TQTVD stand, our participation in all panels about interactivity in the SET Conference, and the support from the main TV broadcasters show that TQTVD is already the main reference in Brazil for solutions and services for interactive Digital TV, being a company focused on serving the industry's entire value chain.
